From an idea in 2003 to the launch in 2025
It started with a question about what a newly liberalised market was missing: usable data.

The seed is planted
Shortly after the liberalisation of the Dutch energy market, Jan Willem Zwang, then two years into the sector, looks at a market that is still opaque to many. Jan Willem soon sees what is missing: good, current and reliable data.
- More than ten years
Custom solutions for the market
Jan Willem works with software developer Victor van der Stoep. For more than ten years they build custom solutions in a range of settings.
- 2021
The decision
Jan Willem and Victor decide to bring everything they have learned together in one scalable platform: an energy data platform for traders, battery operators, consultants and grid operators.
- 2024
Tijn Mutsaers joins
Tijn Mutsaers, founder of FLINK Nederland and an energy advisory expert, joins as strategic and commercial partner. With internal and external professionals, development of the platform begins.
- 2025
The team grows
Extra expertise in tool development and technical support strengthens the team. Strategic partners and the first customers join.

The MVP goes live
Profiteia launches its MVP, after a journey that began more than twenty years earlier with one observation: without good data you fall behind.
